First Carolina State Bank Elects New Chairman of the Board Dr. Randall Stewart Elected Chairman of the Board


Rocky Mount, North Carolina: July 11, 2005 - Local business leader and owner Dr. Randall C. Stewart has been elected chairman of the board of First Carolina State Bank by the bank's board of directors. The election occurred during the board's June meeting. Dr. Stewart is a founding member of the locally-managed community bank which opened in November 2000.

"Dr. Stewart is an incredible asset for our bank and we are extremely pleased he has accepted this position," said David Parker, president and CEO of the bank. "His experience as a local business owner, combined with his in-depth knowledge of issues affecting the economic vitality of our community, provides us with valuable insight as we work to grow our business."

Dr. Stewart is founder, owner and president of Carolina Physical Therapy Associates, Inc., in Rocky Mount. He has been an active participant in a variety of community organizations and public service initiatives during the past 33 years and currently serves as chairman of the North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners by appointment of two governors. Dr. Stewart earned his B.S. in physical therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Master of Science and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. He and his wife, the former Nancy Chapman, have four children. They are members of the Lakeside Baptist Church in Rocky Mount where he has served on the board of deacons.
